Do you need to have experience or special training?


In addition to DHS required training, CarePoint provides the necessary  training you would need to work in Direct Support and PCA.  The basic requirements include the following. 

  1. Be a minimum of 18 years old

  2. Pass a criminal background check which is required by the MN Department of Human Services to work as a PCA

  3. Provide proof of your ability to legally work within the United States

  4. For PCA, you must successfully complete the online training and Individualized PCA Training Test (DHS) through the MN Department of Human Services.  In addition, you can not be a spouse, parent, or paid legal guardian of a minor child receiving PCA services.

Once you have been cleared the background check, you will be notified that you are ready to begin training and/or working with CarePoint.
